When the body senses that it isn’t getting enough nutrition, it goes into “starvation mode” and starts storing up for the end of the famine. So, instead of teaching your body to survive on less, you convince it that since it isn’t going to be getting any nutrition any time soon from you, it had better take matters into its own hands and start saving up. This is counter-productive to the man or woman that wants to shave pounds. <a rel="nofollow" target="_blank" href="http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/08/110817142847.htm" ><em>Science Daily</em> reported</a> that college students aren’t eating enough fruits and vegetables. Dieting isn’t about eating less, it’s about eating right.</li>

<p>We have to start with prevention and this can be done by many things.  Since most viruses are breathed into your system or you get them from other sick people sneezing or coughing on their hands it is necessary to keep your hands clean.  All day long you need to wash your hands every single chance you get to keep the germs from spreading.  You can also use an antibacterial hand gel to help keep the germs at bay.</p>
<p>Another great preventative measure is to take a daily dose of Vitamin C.  This will help your body fight off any infection before it gets worse.  Most people don&#8217;t understand that once you are sick vitamin C will not do much, but it can help prevent the virus from taking over your life if you use it as a preventative measure.</p>

These are not forms of relaxation even though we think they are.</p>
<p>Sure you get off of work and come home to your favorite chair or couch, plop down, and think you are relaxing with the television on.  However, all you really are doing is avoiding what you need to be thinking about.  Your body might not have to do much work in this very recognizable position, but your mind is working.</p>

<p>When was the last time you went on a vacation with no plan once you arrived at your destination?  When was the last time you spent a week doing nothing but relaxing on a beach?  Instead you probably took a vacation that was more hectic than your everyday life with itineraries and things to go see.  These are just fine, but not if you need to relax.</p>

<p>The first recommendation to gain total relaxation is to make sure you vacation properly.  You need to have at least 2 weeks of vacation time for this to work properly.  If you don&#8217;t get this much time off and you have been with your company for at least 2 years, then it is time to renegotiate your benefits.  This is another issue in the United States, but we won&#8217;t get into that right now.</p>
<p>Since most of us have families, even if they are just our parents and siblings, we need a week of vacation time every year to visit with them.  Even if you don&#8217;t have to travel that far to see them it is important to see your family.  This leaves you with one week left of vacation time and this is where you are going to find total relaxation.</p>
<p>Take a vacation to a destination that is peaceful and out of the ordinary.  Get away from the noise by going to the beach, going camping, or doing something you enjoy that is not strenuous.  For the entire week take all the electronic devices out of your life and simply see nature and spend time in quiet and peace.</p>
<p>Of course, for emergency purposes take a cellular phone and check it once in the morning or give someone the phone number to your hotel.  Other than this small contact with the outside world just escape into a peaceful place where you can be alone or with your spouse for a week of uninterrupted relaxation.  No bosses bothering you, no family gossip, and nothing disrupting your peace.</p>
<p>2.  Daily Quiet</p>
<p>It is very hard to find peace and quiet in our world and we all grew up with a parent that would specifically say they needed some peace and quiet at some point.  Well, there is quite a bit of truth behind that statement and you need peach and quiet every single day.  Find a place you can go that is 100% quiet and you will be uninterrupted for 10 to 20 minutes every single day.</p>
<p>This could be your bedroom, your church, out by a pond or lake, or anywhere else you know you can go and just sit in quiet for 10 to 20 minutes.  If you do this every single day you will be amazed at how your mind will relax and find the solace it desperately needs.  </p>
<p>3.  Exercise</p>
<p>Now you may be thinking how is exercise going to bring me relaxation, but you have to look at both sides of the coin.  When you exercise you help to wear your body out every single day.  This makes it much easier to relax when it is time to do so.  Plus exercise is a stress reliever and a great escape from the world.</p>
<p>If you commit to a 10 minute walk every single day and work up to a 30 minute walk or actually jogging it will do wonders for how you feel.  Another option is to join a local pool and swim laps for 15 minutes a day.  This can be very peaceful because it is usually very quiet during lap swim at the pool.</p>

<p>Our bodies and minds are not set up to cope with the daily garbage put in front of us.  It is important to get the proper relaxation in our lives or we will never be able to sort out what is really going on in our heads. <p>This may seem very silly since you are trying to learn how to control your sugar craving, but if you give yourself a small treat every night, then you have something to look forward to. The best two choices are to eat one square of dark chocolate (73% cacao or more) or to have one small scoop of natural vanilla ice cream.</p>
