Forget Paying High Costs On Your Health Policy – Know Ways To Save Money
With the increase in budget restraints, most people have been struggling with their health insurance premiums as they can’t make ends meet with the meager funds that they earn. Since the unemployment rate has stubbornly stuck at a 9% rate, most people are wary about the huge amount of debt obligations that they have to repay with the small amount of money that they make. After the health care reform passed by Obama, everyone has to own a minimum coverage on their health insurance policies irrespective of their gross monthly income. Are you worried about the high premium costs that you have to bear throughout your life until you file a claim? Well, you need not fret as there are ways in which you can reduce the costs on the health insurance policy. If you’re oblivious about them, read on.
1. Take care of your health:Whichever policy you take out, you should know that the premium costs is decided by the risk that you pose. For an auto insurance policy, the premiums will be high if the automobile is more prone to risk. Similarly, in a health insurance policy, the more you’re likely to carry poor health conditions; the premiums charged will be higher. Your weight, cholesterol level, blood pressure are some factors that the insurer checks before deciding your premiums. Check your health conditions and if possible, improve them so that you can save your dollars on the health policy.
2. Quit bad habits like smoking and drinking:You must have various medical reasons of quitting smoking and drinking but have you heard that stopping this bad habit can help you save your dollars on your health insurance policy? If you quit consuming tobacco, this can result in savings on your health insurance policy. As smoking and drinking gives birth to various heart and lung diseases, you become more prone to filing a claim and giving way to fatal diseases. This is the reason why a non-smoker will be charged reasonable premium rates as compared to a smoker.
3. Agree to pay a higher deductible:While you take out a health insurance policy, you have to agree on a deductible amount that is the amount of money that you’ll pay out-of-pocket when you file a claim. Choosing to pay a low deductible amount will mean being charged high premium rates but if you choose to pay a higher deductible, you can grab low premium rates on the policy.
4. Change the co-insurance ratio:The most common co-insurance ratio is 80/20, which means that when you file a claim, you have to pay 20% of the bill and your insurer will pay the rest of the 80%. If you can change this ratio and pay more when you file a claim, this may mean lower premium rates on the policy. Just like changing your deductible amount, you also have to weigh the risks and the costs of making the changes.
5. Look for group health insurance plans: If you and your spouse both have group health insurance plans offered by your employer, you should take help of it so that it may cover both your needs and also help you save your dollars. However, if it doesn’t offer the same value, you should not go for them.
Therefore, when you don’t want your health insurance costs hurt your wallet, you should make sure that you take out the best policy that is marked by adequate coverage and low price. Manage your finances to make timely payments on the policy and avoid hurting your credit score.

If you follow the tips you are about to get below you can cook many very healthy meals for a very low cost. It will take just a little commitment from you and your new cooking style can help to support your body in a much healthier way.
7 Great Tips for Healthy Cooking on a Romaine Noodle Budget
1. Off Brand and Store Brand
Many people don’t realize that the store brand or the off brand is just as good as the name brand. The only real difference is they don’t spend millions of dollars on marketing. If you are on a tight budget look at the ingredients in the name brand compared to the off brand and you will see they are nearly the same.
2. Cook for More than One
A great way to save money when you are cooking is to cook much more than you need just for one meal. Then, freeze the leftovers in one portion sizes for later. You can do this with soups, sauces, rice, and many other foods. This will help you to have a quick meal ready to go that is healthy and since you make a larger portion to begin with it will cost you much less.
3. Buy Family Size Meat Packages
Sure it is more expensive up front to buy the larger packages of meats, but with freezer bags you can portion these out and freeze them individually. Usually stores offer a discount for bulk items and it can save you in the long run if you buy your boneless, skinless chicken in the larger package instead of the small package.
4. Farmer’s Markets
If you want to add fresh vegetables and fruits to your diet, but you cannot really afford them at the grocery store, then head down to the farmer’s market closest to you. With only $10 you can pick out a nice amount of great vegetable that are actually better than what you get in the stores. They are usually locally grown and fresh.
5. Cut Coupons
Coupons can be a great way to save money on groceries. Nearly everybody gets a set of ads in the mail once or twice a week and these always have good coupons you can use. Also, if you join the rewards programs at grocery stores you will get coupons in the mail to help you save money.
6. Frozen Green Vegetables
By adding frozen green vegetables to your grocery list you can get the nutrients you need at very low prices. Many store brands of these are under $1 a bag and that is about 4 servings for one person. You don’t have to cook the entire bag and these are great to add into stir-fry meals with meat, rice and a little citrus juice.
7. Healthy Rice
Another great item to add to your grocery list is the healthy rice you can find for very cheap. Brown rice and long grain rice are full of nutrients and you can get enough for an entire month for under $2. This is a great addition to many meals and cooking with rice is very easy.
A Few Final Thoughts about Cooking on a Tight Budget
When you are not cooking for an entire family and you are just cooking for yourself it can be very difficult to eat good foods for a very low price. Many individuals are afraid to buy a large package of meat because they are only one person. The best thing you can do is invest in freezer bags and low sodium marinades.
These are not very expensive and with a little bit of marinade in with your piece of chicken, pork chop, or piece of fish you can have a great tasting and tender meal ready for you whenever you are ready. Simply freeze them individually, or if you are cooking for two freeze them in pairs, with the marinade, then pull one out a few days before you are ready for it and let it thaw in the fridge.
When you go to cook it you can bake it in the oven, add a few fresh or frozen vegetables, or you can cook it up as a stir-fry. Either way you will have a great tasting and healthy meal without all that much work.
Winter Cold Remedies and Prevention
Winter Cold Remedies to Help you This Year
It is that time again and many are going to be looking for winter cold remedies since they are going to get sick. You may have already started coughing, sneezing, sniffling, feeling like garbage, and wanting to crawl in a hole. The flu is here and so are many other sicknesses that come along with the winter months.
If you want to avoid being sick this year or you already are and want to get rid of it, then you need to use one of the winter cold remedies to help your body fight off the virus or illness you might get.
Where to Start with Winter Cold Remedies
We have to start with prevention and this can be done by many things. Since most viruses are breathed into your system or you get them from other sick people sneezing or coughing on their hands it is necessary to keep your hands clean. All day long you need to wash your hands every single chance you get to keep the germs from spreading. You can also use an antibacterial hand gel to help keep the germs at bay.
Another great preventative measure is to take a daily dose of Vitamin C. This will help your body fight off any infection before it gets worse. Most people don’t understand that once you are sick vitamin C will not do much, but it can help prevent the virus from taking over your life if you use it as a preventative measure.
Now you also need to get out the bleach wipes and Lysol spray. This is especially important if you have children because they are magnets for germs and they will pick them up from school every single day. Wipe down and spray any toys, handles, door knobs, or other surfaces that are touched on a regular basis. This can help keep the germs to a minimum.
One last preventative step to take is to change your sheets and all the sheets in your house. If your child has become sick or you have picked up even a small amount of it you could be leaving germs all over your bed. Wash and change your sheets once a week during cold season and you may not need one of the winter cold remedies this year.
Winter Cold Remedies for When you get Sick
Now if you are already sick or someone in your house is, then you need to know what to do. If it is very early only and you just started to get sick, then you need to consider something like ProBoost or Airborne. These two supplements are packed with things that can help fight off the cold faster and keep it from getting worse.
Do not use drugs like Zicam because they have been linked to addiction and they can actually burn your sinus cavities. This would not be good and there are better ways. You can also drink green tea with local 100% natural honey a few times a day. The tea has antioxidants that can help your body fight the cold off and the honey will help your body build up immunity to local allergens.
If it is too late for these methods you can use gingerroot to help with inflammation and for a sore throat. It will help kill the virus and if you just grate a little into a tea strainer and pour hot boiling water over it you will have a therapeutic tea to help with your throat. Drink this three times a day until you feel better.
Also, eucalyptus oil can help with a stuffy nose and believe it or not chicken soup also helps with the common cold. With eucalyptus oil you want to put a few drops of the oil in a sink full of hot water, put a towel over your head, and breathe in the steam. Steam is also another great remedy and a hot shower will help.
The best way to keep from getting sick is to pay attention to how you feel and fight it off before you actually become sick. If you do get sick you can try any of the above winter cold remedies and have a better year this year.
The Art of Relaxation
Why Most Adults Never Experience Relaxation
We live in a very busy world full of people trying to tell us what to do, where to go, and all types of noise. We constantly have advertisement in our faces, music blaring, televisions wasting our time, and all types of other electronic devices keeping us occupied. These are not forms of relaxation even though we think they are.
Sure you get off of work and come home to your favorite chair or couch, plop down, and think you are relaxing with the television on. However, all you really are doing is avoiding what you need to be thinking about. Your body might not have to do much work in this very recognizable position, but your mind is working.
The art of relaxation is something we are never taught. They don’t give us a lesson on meditation or on how to find a quiet place and escape from the world in school. Nobody warns us that if we don’t find time to relax it will never happen. We don’t even take proper vacations anymore, especially in the United States.
When was the last time you went on a vacation with no plan once you arrived at your destination? When was the last time you spent a week doing nothing but relaxing on a beach? Instead you probably took a vacation that was more hectic than your everyday life with itineraries and things to go see. These are just fine, but not if you need to relax.
3 Recommendations for Total Relaxation Year Round
1. Proper Vacationing
The first recommendation to gain total relaxation is to make sure you vacation properly. You need to have at least 2 weeks of vacation time for this to work properly. If you don’t get this much time off and you have been with your company for at least 2 years, then it is time to renegotiate your benefits. This is another issue in the United States, but we won’t get into that right now.
Since most of us have families, even if they are just our parents and siblings, we need a week of vacation time every year to visit with them. Even if you don’t have to travel that far to see them it is important to see your family. This leaves you with one week left of vacation time and this is where you are going to find total relaxation.
Take a vacation to a destination that is peaceful and out of the ordinary. Get away from the noise by going to the beach, going camping, or doing something you enjoy that is not strenuous. For the entire week take all the electronic devices out of your life and simply see nature and spend time in quiet and peace.
Of course, for emergency purposes take a cellular phone and check it once in the morning or give someone the phone number to your hotel. Other than this small contact with the outside world just escape into a peaceful place where you can be alone or with your spouse for a week of uninterrupted relaxation. No bosses bothering you, no family gossip, and nothing disrupting your peace.
2. Daily Quiet
It is very hard to find peace and quiet in our world and we all grew up with a parent that would specifically say they needed some peace and quiet at some point. Well, there is quite a bit of truth behind that statement and you need peach and quiet every single day. Find a place you can go that is 100% quiet and you will be uninterrupted for 10 to 20 minutes every single day.
This could be your bedroom, your church, out by a pond or lake, or anywhere else you know you can go and just sit in quiet for 10 to 20 minutes. If you do this every single day you will be amazed at how your mind will relax and find the solace it desperately needs.
3. Exercise
Now you may be thinking how is exercise going to bring me relaxation, but you have to look at both sides of the coin. When you exercise you help to wear your body out every single day. This makes it much easier to relax when it is time to do so. Plus exercise is a stress reliever and a great escape from the world.
If you commit to a 10 minute walk every single day and work up to a 30 minute walk or actually jogging it will do wonders for how you feel. Another option is to join a local pool and swim laps for 15 minutes a day. This can be very peaceful because it is usually very quiet during lap swim at the pool.
Why is Total Relaxation so Important?
Our bodies and minds are not set up to cope with the daily garbage put in front of us. It is important to get the proper relaxation in our lives or we will never be able to sort out what is really going on in our heads. Society raises us to be robots, go to college, get a job, have a family, and die. This is not what life is supposed to be and it is not perfect for everybody.
You need to be able to relax and find the things you love within yourself. If you can find true inner peace your life will be filled with more joy and happiness than you could ever imagine.
The Truth About the Food We Eat
Why America is the Fattest Country in the World
Find all the top natural remedies here: Best Natural Health Remedies
There is one reason and one reason only why America is the fattest country in the world. It is our food supply and everything we put into our bodies. Instead of eating natural and good foods we stuff our faces with deep fried garbage and refined products with very little nutritional value. If you are fat it is most likely your own fault, and the fault of the American society.
Every single time we turn on the boob tube we see advertisements for restaurants with horrible food and for horrible food in general. When was the last time you saw a commercial promoting vegetables or something actually good for your body? We make the bad food more affordable and we make it more accessible than the good food.
It makes no sense that a box of sugary snacks is less expensive than the ingredients you need to make a nice salad. Vegetables just have to be picked and shipped whereas other products actually have to be processed, refined, packages, and shipped. Yet it cost less to buy the garbage foods than the good foods.
How do We End Up Fat?
There are two main causes of our bodies becoming fat, one we eat crappy foods and two we are lazy. Most would argue that stress is another cause, but stress is an excuse that we use to become lazy and eat crappy foods. Our lives are not that difficult that we gain weight due to stress.
However, we make it sound like in order to become skinny, which is not necessary; you must eat like a rabbit and become married to a treadmill. This is not the truth and it is all garbage. You don’t have to be rail thin to be healthy and attractive like most of the media presents it in magazines and on television.
You do need to be at a healthy weight because every pound you carry is putting stress on your joints, your feet, your back, and the rest of your body. Fat comes from unused energy and mainly, in America, it comes from soda and sugary snacks. Just the other day I was at Wal-Mart and some woman was talking about how much her 2 year old loves Dr. Pepper. Seriously, your 2 year old drinks soda. She said her child will have at least 3 cans a day. Guess what, that kid is going to be fat and already is quite chunky.
Soda is extremely cheap and it available everywhere you go. When was the last time you went to a restaurant and they had a good selection of juices on the menu? The only reason most restaurants even carry juice is to make bar drinks and most likely they are carrying juice cocktails, which are basically 10% juice and 90% sugar.
If you don’t want to be fat anymore change your habits. Stop eating and drinking garbage and start paying attention to what you actually put into your body. It is okay to have something sugary every once in a while and the occasional soda won’t kill you, but if you drink soda all day long and most of what you eat is made from white flour, white sugar, or anything else processed, then you will never lose a pound.
Instant Weight Loss with a Magic Pill
That headline might excite you because the new American dream is the magical answer to losing weight. We are so lazy we would rather have surgery and make our stomachs smaller than actually eat right and exercise to lose weight. Think about it….we would rather have someone cut us open and put a band around our stomach than spend a couple hours a week exercising to lose weight.
There are supplements that can aid in your weight loss, but it always comes back to diet and exercise. You don’t have to go on a drastic all salad diet, but you do need to look in the mirror and decide whether or not you are happy, then make the decision to actually change the way you look and feel the right way with diet and exercise.
